Spinning Up Smiles for Lane County Kids

Thanks to a recent donation from the Bakelite Eugene team, ten local children will soon have something many kids dream about: a bike of their own.

Earlier this summer, the Bakelite team in Eugene, Oregon, purchased and assembled 10 bikes and helmets in a variety of sizes before donating them to Every Child Lane County, a nonprofit organization that supports foster children and families throughout the region.

Inspired by Bike Month, the effort reflects Bakelite’s ongoing commitment to making a positive impact in the communities where we live and work. By helping provide children with access to bikes, the team hopes to create opportunities for fun, independence and a little extra childhood adventure.

According to Every Child Lane County, bike donations are relatively uncommon, making the contribution especially meaningful for the children and families they serve.

Every Child Lane County supports foster children and their families through a variety of programs designed to meet both urgent needs and everyday challenges. Through its My Neighbor Program, the organization helps provide essentials such as beds, cribs, car seats, groceries and clothing, while also fulfilling quality-of-life needs like bikes, strollers and birthday party supplies.

For ten local children, this donation means more than a new set of wheels. It represents the freedom to explore, the excitement of a new adventure, and the simple joy of being a kid.

Bakelite is proud to support organizations like Every Child Lane County that help strengthen communities and create brighter opportunities for children and families. As these bikes find their new homes, they will also help deliver something just as important: smiles that are ready to hit the road. 🚲
