Keeping Bakelite Moving Forward: Celebrating Our Drivers

During National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, Bakelite proudly recognized the drivers who help keep our business, customers and communities moving forward every day.

More than transportation professionals, they are trusted partners to our customers, ambassadors of our company, and critical contributors to our success. Whether navigating changing road conditions, managing customer schedules or safely delivering products, their professionalism and dedication help ensure Bakelite delivers the high level of service our customers expect.

To celebrate the week, Rafael Morin, Senior Director of Supply Chain, and Chadwick Burroughs, Fleet Manager, visited each U.S. fleet location to personally thank drivers for their dedication and service.

“Our fleet team demonstrates exceptional commitment, professionalism and dedication every single day,” says Chadwick. “Our drivers safely transport our products across the country while delivering outstanding customer service. Their efforts are essential to fulfilling our mission and maintaining the trust our customers place in Bakelite.”

Bakelite’s U.S. fleet of 23 drivers and three mechanics supports operations at our Conway, NC; Lufkin, TX; and Taylorsville, MS sites. Together, they help maintain the safe, reliable delivery of products to customers across North America.

A Few Words from Our Drivers

As part of this year’s celebration, we asked several drivers to share what motivates them, what they’re most proud of and what safety means to them.

  • “To be an example in my community. Taking pride in hard work and making a difference.” –Dwight McInnis, Taylorsville
  • “Being able to look back over my driving years and say I’ve accomplished raising a family doing something I love.” – Will Deason, Lufkin
  • “Supporting the next generation of leaders. Helping our youth navigate a path to adulthood.” – Alvin Arrington, Conway
  • “Celebrating years with my wife and providing for my family.” – Steve Garris, Taylorsville
  • “Being able to go back home each day and be with your family.” – Ricky Perry, Conway

These reflections highlight the values that define Bakelite’s fleet team: dedication, responsibility, pride, and commitment to safety.

We extend our sincere gratitude to every member of our fleet team and the carrier partners who support our operations. Thank you for the long miles, early mornings, careful planning and safe deliveries that help keep Bakelite moving forward every day.
