Today, we’re proud to highlight Jane Palacios, Executive Assistant and Office Manager at our Atlanta headquarters. Jane’s journey at Bakelite reflects adaptability, connection, and a passion for supporting others.

From Support Role to Strategic Contributor

Q: What is your role at Bakelite? How has it changed over the years?

A: I am the Executive Assistant and office manager at Bakelite’s headquarters in Atlanta. My role has evolved significantly since in joined in 2023. I’ve had the opportunity to support not just leadership, but teams across the entire organization. This growth has allowed me to contribute to a wide variety of exciting projects and connect with so many incredible people along the way. It has been both rewarding and inspiring! 

Q: What’s the best part about your job at Bakelite?

A: The best part of my job is the people. Everyone at Bakelite has been incredibly kind and welcoming. What makes this role different from others is that no two days are ever the same. There’s always something new happening, which keeps things fun, interesting and always exciting. 

Q: How does your work contribute to Bakelite’s mission and vision? How are you putting your fingerprints on the organization?

A: Through my role supporting teams across the company, I help create a sense of connection, organization, and consistency that allows others to focus on their work and deliver results.  Whether its coordinating logistics for major events, jumping on cross-functional projects, or being a go-to resource for questions, I like to think I’m putting my fingerprint on Bakelite by helping build a culture of collaboration, reliability, and genuine support-values that align closely with our mission and vision. 

Q: In your experience, how has Bakelite supported you through career or life changes?

A: Bakelite has given me the space to grow, take on new challenges, and evolve my role in ways that have truly shaped both my career and personal growth. 

Q: What’s your advice to someone who is interested in working at Bakelite?

A: Go for it! Be ready for variety, meaningful connections, and a team that truly values collaboration and kindness. 

Q: How do you mentor colleagues who are newer to Bakelite?

A: I make sure they know they can always come to me with any questions or concerns. If I don’t have the answer, I’ll gladly help find someone who does. I want them to feel supported and confident as they settle into their roles.   

Q: Do you have a favorite Bakelite memory?

A: One of my favorite Bakelite memories was helping plan our Finance Integration Meeting, which was one of my first projects with the company. The meeting took place in Italy, which was not only an incredible opportunity to meet the amazing Finance Team but also my very first trip to Europe. It was truly a memorable experience on both a professional and personal level.
