Bakelite Advances Toward 2030 Goals, Delivering Measurable Progress
Bakelite’s 2025 Sustainability Update highlights a year of measurable progress across its environmental, social, and governance priorities, reflecting continued momentum toward its 2030 goals.
The report captures a year of strong execution, with progress driven by teams across our global operations and supported by stronger systems and processes.
In 2025, Bakelite achieved the following, measured against a 2023 baseline:
- An 8.5% reduction in energy intensity
- A 27.0% reduction in water intensity
- An 11.4% reduction in waste
- A 44% improvement in safety performance

Our sustainability impact was enabled by operational enhancements across Bakelite’s global footprint, including energy recovery systems, expanded water conservation initiatives, and a continued focus on safe, efficient manufacturing.
Bakelite also strengthened the systems supporting its sustainability strategy through enhanced governance, deeper climate risk analysis, and improved data security practices.
