One Team, One Goal: Leo Award Celebrates Barry Success

The Bakelite Barry site has successfully completed a major upgrade to its Distributed Control System (DCS), one of the most complex projects undertaken at the site in recent years.

The project brought together specialist process control, electrical, and maintenance expertise from across the organization. Dean Gallacher and Steve Dixon worked closely with Ross Watterson and the Barry site team, combining regional technical knowledge with on‑site experience to deliver a successful outcome.

In recognition of the team’s contribution, Julian Welfoot, EVP & Managing Director, presented Dean, Steve, and Ross with the Leo Award. The Leo Award acknowledges exceptional performance, collaboration, and commitment demonstrated in delivering impactful results.

The successful completion of the upgrade reflects a strong focus on teamwork, safety, and operational excellence, and highlights the value of coordinated effort across disciplines and locations.

Congratulations to Dean, Steve, and Ross on this well‑deserved recognition, and thank you for setting a strong example of collaboration, professionalism, and operational excellence.
