Q: What is your role at Bakelite?
A: My current position is Product Development & Technical Service Specialist. My job consists of developing resin formulations for different applications. I’m also responsible for the technical service for some of the European Forest Products customers.
Q: How does your work contribute to Bakelite’s mission and vision? How would you say you are putting your fingerprints on the organization?
A: I contribute to the development of high-performance products that enable our customers to use natural resources efficiently. Together, with constant attention on process improvement, this helps in creating a greener future.
Q: When did you join Bakelite? What were you doing before then?
A: I joined Bakelite in 2017. My previous experience was in the brake manufacturing industry as a chemist/friction material developer.
Q: What’s the best part about your job at Bakelite? What makes this company different from others?
A: The best part of my job is working with peers and customers from different locations all over the world. It’s amazing to see how, despite differences in language, culture and habits, we work smoothly together to achieve a common goal.
Q: Do you have a favorite Bakelite moment?
A: My favorite moment is always the time we spend having our yearly FPD Business Meeting. It is always amazing looking back at what we have achieved so far as a group and thinking about future challenges.
Q: How has Bakelite supported you through career or life changes?
A: My colleagues have been highly supportive in my personal growth. Also, the possibility to have a flexible schedule helped with my work-life balance.
Q: How do you mentor colleagues who are newer to Bakelite?
A: I believe it is important that new associates feel part of a group. In the Research & Development field, it is also important to have training on resin chemistry and customer applications.
