Today, we’re proud to spotlight Krunal Shah, Manager of Supply Chain, Atlanta, GA whose nearly decade-long journey at Bakelite exemplifies growth, innovation, and leadership. 

From Analyst to Leader: A Journey of Growth 

Krunal Shah began his career at Bakelite 9.5 years ago as a Supply Chain Analyst, stepping into a new industry with curiosity and determination. Over the years, he has embraced challenges, driven continuous improvement, and evolved into a leadership role. Krunal now leads Demand and Supply Planning, as well as the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes. 

His strategic approach to planning and operations plays a vital role in aligning Bakelite’s supply chain with customer needs, enhancing forecasting accuracy, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. Krunal’s work directly supports Bakelite’s mission to deliver innovative solutions with integrity and efficiency. 

Q: What is your role at Bakelite? How has it changed over the years? 

A: I currently serve as Manager, Supply Chain, leading Demand and Supply Planning along with the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes. I joined Bakelite 9.5 years ago as a Supply Chain Analyst, new to both the company and the industry. Since then, I’ve grown through diverse challenges and continuous improvement efforts, evolving into a leadership role where I help drive planning strategies critical to our supply chain efficiency and business success. 

Q: How does your work contribute to Bakelite’s mission and vision? How would you say you are putting your fingerprints on the organization? 

A: My work in Demand and Supply Planning and S&OP directly supports Bakelite’s mission by aligning operations with customer needs and driving efficiency. I focus on process improvements, enhance forecasting capabilities, and promote cross-functional collaboration. All of which contribute to customer satisfaction and long-term business success. By prioritizing safety, integrity, and innovation, I strive to leave a lasting positive impact on our organization. 

Q: What’s the best part about your job at Bakelite? What makes this company different from others? 

A: The constant opportunity to learn and grow is what I enjoy the most. Every day brings new challenges, keeping the work engaging and dynamic. What sets Bakelite apart is its strong customer focus, commitment to innovation, and a collaborative culture where ideas are welcomed and contributions are recognized. 

Q: What’s your advice to someone who is interested in working at Bakelite?

Q: In your experience, how has Bakelite supported you through career or life changes? 

A: Bakelite has been incredibly supportive throughout my journey – from starting as an analyst to growing into a leadership role. The company values learning, embraces challenges, and supports work-life balance, which has helped me navigate both personal and professional milestones. 

Q: Do you have a favorite Bakelite memory? 

A: Attending the Supply Chain Summit stands out – it’s a great chance to connect with the broader team through fun team-building events and meaningful conversations. These moments strengthen our relationships and make collaboration even more rewarding. 

Q: Is there a group or person at Bakelite that has had a particularly big impact on your career? 

A: Definitely – the Supply Chain team, along with mentors and peers across departments, have played a significant role in my development. Their support and collaboration have helped shape my career and encouraged continuous learning and growth. 

Q: How do you mentor colleagues who are newer to Bakelite? 

A: I aim to create an open and supportive environment where new team members feel comfortable asking questions and sharing ideas. I guide them through our processes, offer practical insights, and encourage a mindset of collaboration and continuous improvement. Just as my mentors did for me.
