Bakelite Supports Children’s Hospice in Germany

As part of Bakelite’s holiday community engagement initiative, our sites in Germany supported the Balthasar children’s hospice in Olpe, Germany with a special donation and to bring joy to the children and their families.

The Christmas packages included scarves, hats, jackets and cuddly toys for the children, as well as Bakelite water bottles and coffee mugs.

Bakelite has supported the children’s hospice for many years. Set up in 1998 as Germany’s first children’s hospice, Balthasar cares for children diagnosed with life-threatening conditions and provides a supportive environment for families going through a very difficult journey. It strives to be a second “home” for these children and families as they deal with terminal illnesses.

Bakelite’s financial support to Balthasar center dates back to the hospice’s early years.
