Bakelite Site Leadership Meeting

Last week, Bakelite Site Leaders from across the globe met in North Carolina for an immersive, four-day workshop encompassing topics such as safety leadership, leadership development, our OneBakelite safety culture and more.

In addition to having our Executive Leadership Team present, a highlight of the meeting was a keynote presentation from guest speaker Jason Kunz, who discussed what attributes the highest-performing leaders possess, and how we can all learn from them to become top performers in our space.

In addition to tours of the nearby Bakelite Acme and Conway sites, the meeting also featured a series of workshops and presentations focused on a variety of topics, including:

  • The importance of safety leadership and action planning
  • Eliminating SIFs and improving OIIR
  • Understanding functional competencies at Bakelite
  • Associate Pulse Survey results
  • Crisis communications
  • Leadership development
  • Community engagement

The meeting concluded with a team-building and community event in which participants built bikes that were donated to the local Boys & Girls Club.
